South African telecommunications company Vodacom has acquired a stake of 51% of companies managed data services company Storage Technologies Services , StorTech. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

The company said StorTech portfolio complements its Enterprise Solutions focused-business and will expand its service center data capacity.
Pieter Uys, chief executive designate to Vodacom , said: "The launch of Vodacom Business in February this year indicated our intention to diversify the activities of Vodacom in the convergence space, and invest in new avenues for growth. Acquisition of StorTech is a continuation of this process, and Vodacom will give access to other engineering techniques and skills. "
