This has been the strangest idea that we heard in the fight against poor energy efficiency . It seems Nissan is working on an accelerator which will push back if a pilot attempts to "floor" and accelerate too quickly
A rapid acceleration, of course, is a heavy burden on fuel economy, and Nissan says the system could mileage by up to 5% -10% in calculating the rate most effective acceleration.
We have a major problem with this system: If you're in a risky situation and the need to accelerate quickly to avoid it, you're out of luck.
However, Nissan said it will allow drivers to turn off the system manually.
