Although many cities and some states it has become illegal to use mobile phones while driving without hands-free devices, New Jersey became the first state in the country to give police the right to pull the drivers only for that offense. In Illinois and elsewhere, police can add that the charges on the ticket, if you are pulled over for other reasons, or if you want to be in an accident when the phone.
Now policemen in a " Sopranos " land can make you cough up 130 U.S. dollars only for calls or text messages on a hand-held device. Ouch.
Newsday reports that the police will keep their eyes open for distracted drivers. How? They look for warning signs, of course: Slow driving and cell-phone combination, "said Pam Fischer, director of New Jersey's Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
Drivers are still allowed to use their phones in emergencies, and can still talk while using hands-free device to avoid penalties. Of course, there is much research does not say that do not have a telephone , that is the biggest problem, which is deep in conversation, that is entertainment.
